Reed-making for bassoons and contrabassoons

Windeler brand bassoon and contrabassoon reeds have stood for quality and consistency for over 50 years. In 1955, Hermann Windeler, bassoonist in the Opern- und Museumsorchester in Frankfurt on the Main, laid the foundation for the reeds which are now played in over 50 countries.

With his tremendous inventive talent and tireless diligence he developed and perfected the art of reed-making as we know it today, which back then was still in its infancy. In 2006, Reinhard Windeler, bassoonist with the Bremer Philharmoniker, handed over the production of bassoon reeds to Nicolas Müller, now co-president of Tutti Fagotti GmbH. Since then we have been continuing the long tradition of this renowned brand.
